I helped bring to life the National Geographic Society integral accessibility strategy in the Museum of Exploration so that all visitors can fully engage with their exhibitions and services.I translated and reviewed interactive experiences, exhibits, visual descriptions and videos. I also helped manage glossaries to ensure consistent use of the organization's vocabulary.

I helped the IRC train managers to lead teams in Latin America and bond with other managers in this global humanitarian organization that works in 40 countries to help people survive and recover from conflict and disaster.I translated into Latin American Spanish all the content for this 6-month training: PPT slides, the participants' workbook, brochures, communications, instructions, surveys, trainers’ guides and more.

Fotos Nuestras (Pictures of Us), a 20-minute short film featured in the 27th BAFICI Film Festival, needed English subtitles that captured its story and tone in full.I created the subtitles from scratch, translating dialogue from Argentinian Spanish into English, timing each line and preserving the film's voice for international audiences and festival programmers.

Over the years, I've worked on subtitle translation, quality control, and SDH authoring for a wide range of films and series distributed on major streaming platforms.I translated and quality-checked subtitles to meet each platform's technical specs and style guides, and created descriptive subtitles so deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences could could follow every detail, from dialogue to sound cues.

¡Hola! I'm Gabriela, an English-Spanish freelance translator and subtitler.
Carl Sagan introduced me to science outreach, to a sense of wonder for the one planet we have (that pale blue dot) and to caring for it. He did it through nothing less than his TV show, Cosmos. Today, as a Spanish linguist, I work to carry meaningful messages across sustainability and climate change, education, audiovisual media, and popular science because I know what it feels like when a message truly gets through, and I'm determined to bring that feeling into the Spanish-speaking world.Having completed a six-year certified translation program at the University of Buenos Aires, earned a Master's Degree in Audiovisual Translation, and joined the Sworn Translators' Association of the City of Buenos Aires (CTPCBA) as a member, I stand by what I do as a professional, mindful that translation should carry intention and care, not just words.That's how I can do my bit to help: by translating and subtitling content that respects its original purpose, so it inspires the same urgency, awe or connection in Spanish.Feel free to read more about my professional background on LinkedIn.
